6kg CO2 cylinder

This 6kg cylinder is best for carbonating and/or dispensing large quantities of beverages or you do not have a nearby filling station.
Owning your own CO2 cylinder is a vastly cheaper option than renting from a gas company. But be sure that if you buy one you get to keep it as they have a 10 year refill life and you don’t want to swap it for one that is almost out of date! There are a number of swap options around, we recommend that you get your own cylinder refilled which we do in store 7 days a week.

To make the best use of your cylinder you will need some form of keg system. This can take on many forms from a home converted freezer (AKA Keezzer) or fridge to a much coveted Keggerator system.

Additional requirements are…

• Regulator
• One way check valve
• Beer and gas line
• Tee’s or manifolds for use with more than one keg
• Quick disconnects – one for liquid (usually black) one for Gas (usually grey) for each tap
• Kegs
• Some sort of tap or gun for dispensing or beer font
• Keggerator

 

Quick Disconnects come in a variety of styles. By far the most common type is the inexpensive Ball lock disconnect. They can be made of either moulded plastic or stainless steel.

There are also 2 methods for attaching them to your beer line. The first is a simple Barb connection and the second is a MFL connection.

A much less common type is the pinlock type.

Aquarium CO2

These cylinders have a large capacity when used for big planted aquariums and results in very vigorous plant growth and oxygen production.
